Starter belt caught in gears |

If you run a 7.5cc engine on a
gearbox, unless you take precautions to prevent it, at
some point you will definitely get the starter belt
caught in the gears. This usually happens at the start of
a big final and you normally have to loosen the engine
from the gearbox to release the belt. This all takes time
whilst the race continues without you.

A simple
modification to the gearbox with an alloy plate
will prevent the belt getting caught in the gears
|

Drill and tap the gearbox for 3mm
bolts, mount the plate as shown below so that the belt
cannot get behind the pulley |
